OptiPower And Coxabengoa Secure R1.2 Billion Contract For Solar PV Project In South Africa

OptiPower, a trading division of Murray & Roberts Limited, in a joint venture with Spanish energy infrastructure developer Coxabengoa, has been awarded a significant contract to construct a 100 MWp solar photovoltaic (PV) renewable energy facility in South Africa’s Northwest Province. The project, valued at approximately R1.2 billion, is set to provide renewable energy for a South African mining company.

The joint venture’s contract includes the construction and installation of PV modules, trackers, and inverters, as well as the procurement, construction, and installation of main transformers and associated infrastructure for substations and overhead power lines. OptiPower will hold a 50% share in the joint venture.
