Enfinity Global Inc., a leading renewable energy company, has announced the successful securing of $164 million (JPY 26.24 billion) in financing for a 250 MW solar PV portfolio in Japan. This financing, achieved in partnership with Macquarie Capital and a syndicate led by Shinhan Asset Management, is set to propel the company’s growth in the Japanese market.
The extensive portfolio comprises seven operational utility-scale solar projects and one project currently under construction, with an enterprise value exceeding $1 billion. Once fully operational, the portfolio is anticipated to generate over 300 GWh of clean energy annually, sufficient to power 60,000 homes in Japan and offset 35,000 tons of CO2 emissions.
Carlos Domenech, CEO of Enfinity Global, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We are delighted to partner with Macquarie and Shinhan as we scale our platform in Japan. Japan’s energy transition needs world-class companies that invest in these high-quality long-lived assets and support emerging energy needs such as those driven by data centers.”
A representative from Macquarie Capital echoed this sentiment, adding, “We are thrilled to partner with Enfinity Global to support the financing of this portfolio. Our collaboration underscores our commitment to supporting the growth of high-quality renewable energy projects in attractive markets.”
Macquarie Capital, the investment arm of Macquarie Group, is recognized as the world’s largest infrastructure investor in power assets. Renewable energy remains a top priority within Macquarie’s global investment strategy.
This strategic financing marks a significant milestone for Enfinity Global, bolstering its position in Japan’s renewable energy sector and contributing to the nation’s clean energy goals.
